FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Monday 1st February 2010

First Day of kindergarten signals start of fundraising year

As Australia’s three and four year old children start their first day of kindergarten, parents and

staff are starting to think about fundraising for their kinder.

Many kindergartens throughout Australia are in need of more funds to provide the educational

resources required to provide a good start to a child’s education.

Kinder Kids Australia, a part of Try Youth & Community Services (TRY), assists kindergartens and

childcare centres with fundraising and helps provide funds to purchase new educational

resources to ensure kindergartens can keep their fees low and ensure every child has access to

a kindergarten education.

“Government rebates and fees are sometimes not enough to ensure kindergartens have new

and current educational resources. That’s why we started Kinder Kids Australia, so that we can

help kindergartens and childcare centres help themselves and also provide funds for some of

the most needy” said Damien Mowlam, CEO of Try Youth & Community Services.

Kinder Kids Australia is seeking donations of $4 a month to help provide educational resources

to kindergartens most in need.

The donations are received by Try Youth & Community Services and donations over $2 are tax

deductible.

People can donate online through www.kinderkids.org.au or www.tryyouth.org.au
