Grown With Love, Given With Love:
Grill'd Rewards Mo Bros With Over 32,000 Free Burgers For Movember

MEDIA RELEASE

Friday, 27 October 2009

It has been a busy month at Grill'd, with the healthy burger specialists feeding hungry Mo Bros in their droves. Grill'd has supported Movember for the past four years, with 2009 setting a new record for the number of burgers 'given with love' by Grill'd to Mo Bros.

The Grill'd Movember burger offer officially finished on Sunday, 22 November. Mo Bros were required to raise a minimum of $25 for Movember and in return they were rewarded with one free burger a day for 13 days.

The final numbers of free burgers donated by Grill'd have been collated and the numbers are worth celebrating.

Highlights include:
* Over 32,000 burgers (32,804 in total) given away across the 30 Grill'd restaurants across New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria.
* This equates to over $350,000 worth of burgers donated by Grill'd to Mo Bros supporting Movember

It was also a battle of the States with the three most visited Grill'd restaurants based in Melbourne, Brisbane and Newcastle. Carlton in Melbourne gave away 3333 burgers, followed by Rosalie in Brisbane at 2769 and Newcastle with 2056 burgers.

Grill'd Founder Simon Crowe says, "Our aim was to provide significant support for Movember via our 13-day free burger offer, where registered Mo Bros had to raise $25 to be eligible. I am thrilled to announce Grill'ds contribution of nearly 33,000 free burgers at a value of over $350,000; and to know that our restaurants and staff have collectively supported and contributed to tackling men's health issues."

Mogrilld.com.au was the home for all Mo Bros during the Grill'd free burger offer; with the popular website featuring a daily blog, Twitter, Facebook and Flickr updates as well as features such as the 'Hairy Hall of Fame' where Mo Bros were captured eating 13 different burgers over the 13 days!

In honour of Movember, Grill'd also named the laneway next to its new restaurant in Degraves Street Melbourne 'Mo Bro Lane', with the street sign still in full view until the end of Movember.

Movember co-founder Luke Slattery has been delighted with Grill'ds support, saying, "Once again, our mates at Grill'd have done us proud for 13 days straight Mo Bros in Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria have been treated to delicious, healthy burgersSo thanks Grill'd for feeding the men behind the mo's we'd go hungry without you".

Movember aims to raise awareness and funds for men's health issues. This year, proceeds raised by Movember will go to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and beyondblue - the national depression initiative.
