Home Insulation Program brings great rewards for charity

The Federal Government’s Home Insulation Program has brought great rewards to Try Youth &

Community Services (TRY), an Australian Charity based on giving people opportunities to reach

their potential.

Since the program begun, TRY has ventured into a Home Sustainability social enterprise, giving

training, education and experience to disadvantaged unemployed people and providing a good

practical outcome for the preservation of the environment.

“The Home Insulation Program has allowed us to provide young people with work and training

while also providing a great outcome for the community” said Damien Mowlam CEO of TRY.

“All of our home insulation employees are fully qualified and are given comprehensive training

before they start on-site” he said.

TRY has employed over 50 people as part of the Home Insulation Program, and continues to

employ more people as they expand the social enterprise.

“This program has been great for TRY. We now have a sustainable social enterprise, providing

tangible outcomes for the community. We’re about giving people opportunities to reach their

potential, and what better way than by giving them training and a job” Said Damien.

TRY is an independent non-denomination charity based on giving people opportunities to reach

their potential. They run kindergartens, child care centres, training and employment programs

and youth mentoring programs such as Big Brothers Big Sisters.
