HULK HOGAN ANNOUNCED AS AUSTRALIAN

‘MOVEMBER MO-MENTOR’

Hulk Hogan, the biggest name in professional wrestling, has today been announced as an

official ‘Mo’ Mentor for this year’s Australian ‘Movember’ – the moustache growing charity

event held during November each year which raises funds and awareness for men’s health.

The world famous wrestler, who is coming to Australia in two weeks for a national tour, will be

helping the men’s health charity in his role as a Mo Mentor, by encouraging Aussie men to grow the

best Mo they can  for ‘Movember.’

“To all my Hulkamaniacs, say your prayers, take your vitamins and grow a moustache for

Movember this year,” said Hulk Hogan.  “Get into the ring with me, Hulk Hogan, and my Mo Bros in

the fight against prostate cancer and depression in men.”

Hulk Hogan knows only too well the devastating effects of depression having spoken openly about

his battle with depression following his very public divorce from ex wife, Linda Bollea. In his new

book ‘My Life Outside Of The Ring’ Hogan writes about holding a gun to his head and how he

almost pulled the trigger – but a call from “Gladiators” co-star Laila Ali saved him.

“Be a champion, not a quitter and keep growing your moustache to help beat prostate cancer and

depression in men,” said Hulk Hogan. “And don’t forget to bring your Mo’s along to Hulkamania –

see you in Australia!”

The HULKAMANIA – Let the Battle Begin’ tour starts in Melbourne on the 21st of November and will

feature some of the world’s top wrestling stars including Hulk’s nemesis Ric Flair, Brutus the

‘Barber’ Beefcake, The Nasty Boys, Jimmy Hart, The Count of California and Vampire Warrior,

Lacey Von Eric and many more of your favourite wrestlers. This two and a half hour production

includes at least 10 bouts is set to be the ultimate wrestling spectacular. The arenas will feature

giant screens allowing audiences to view each match in full detail as well as to see the wrestlers

back stage in between wrestling matches.  Billed as a night of family entertainment, each show will

also include audience participation, a huge pyrotechnics display and much more.

Matches will be held at arenas in Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and Sydney from the 21st of

November 2009. This will be the only chance to see Hulk Hogan live in Australia.

For over two decades Hulk Hogan has been synonymous with sports entertainment and

professional wrestling.  Having set live attendance records all over the world including a live gate of

more that 96,000 fans at the Pontiac Silverdome, Hulk Hogan has set his sites on Australia as his

next frontier.

‘Movember’ aims to raise awareness and funding for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and

depression in men. Increased awareness for Movember’s causes is vital when you consider that

each year in Australia, 1 in 11 men will develop prostate cancer before they are 70 and close to

3,000 men will die – many of which would have been preventable with early detection.  And, 1 in 8

men will experience depression in their lifetime – most of whom will not seek help.
