FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Kenyan student creating an Internet wonder to help fight World hunger
Did you know that this year, for the first time in human history, the number of
chronically hungry people in the world will exceed one billion? However, there is
some good news. With over one billion people now accessing the internet, its
never been easier for ordinary people to help spread awareness and come
together to tackle world hunger.
A new idea, created by 21-year-old Software Engineering student, Irvine Ndwiga,
is a simple one. Ndwiga is aiming to encourage one million people to sign up to a
of the amount raised, hopefully $10 million, will be donated to the World Food
Program, as part of their
A Billion for a Billion campaign.
Irvine Ndwiga, a Kenyan student currently studying in Perth and aspiring
entrepreneur, developed the idea for two reasons; one, it was a challenge that
seemed too good to pass up and secondly, but more importantly, because he
passionately believes this is a benevolent venture that will hopefully inspire
others to harness the power of the Internet for social good.
While it seems like a huge challenge for someone so young, Ndwiga is
unphased. Im hoping this venture, promoting social entrepreneurship by
donating 75% of the proceeds to the World Food Program, will inspire others to
do more to add value to other peoples lives, Ndwiga explains.
The Great Wall of Websites will be launched on 28th November. If youd like to
get involved in this historical feat and contribute in beating World hunger , simply
