One Thousand to Take Moonlight Stroll Tonight
Brisbane city will come alive tonight when more than 1000 people descend on South Bank Parklands at dusk to join in the MS Moonlight Walk.
The event presents a prime opportunity for media, with participants from all backgrounds taking in the sights and sounds of the city by the light of the full moon.
Walkers travel a 10km course along the river, beneath the Kangaroo Point Cliffs, across the Story Bridge, through the Botanic Gardens and back over the Goodwill Bridge to South Bank.
The Moonlight Walk aims to raise $100,000 for people living with MS, MS Australia - QLD event manager Julia Faul said.
"This is a very colourful and lively event that attracts families, community groups, members of the MS community and more than a few costume-clad characters as well," Ms Faul said.
Official celebrations will take place after the walk at the Cultural Forecourt, with live entertainment and prize draws.
MS is the most common neurological condition among young adults and the average age of diagnosis is just 30. It affects three times more women than men.
