At Star City Casino’s Astral Bar this evening, Anthony Bell’s Loyal
Foundation has the pleasure in fulfilling a dream.
On Boxing Day last year, the crew of the Super Maxi Investec LOYAL set off
from Sydney in one of the worlds most gruelling and competitive ocean
race’s with the aim of achieving two things, to finish the race and to raise
money for charity.
They did both with the same effort they have put into business and sport
and as a result tonight will donate $50,000 per charity to 14 of the
country’s most needy charities to help improve the lives of many
Australians.
Firstly, the crew consisting of the 13 professional sailors and seven novices,
who had never sailed beyond Sydney Heads, wanted to finish the ocean
classic, but at the same time raise as much money for charities that they
could.
Tonight at Star City Casino, Anthony Bell and his team consisting of Grant
Hackett, Danny Green, Phil Waugh, Phil Kearns, Larry Emdur and James
Dack will donate to 14 charities from monies raised from the events
surrounding the Rolex Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race.
