The race that stops a nation is almost upon us, and almost as important as the fillies is, of course, the
fashion!
Fashion Targets Breast Cancer is asking Australians to show their support this Cup Day. A simple idea
like taking a gold coin collection in the office, home or wherever people gather to watch the race could
make a real difference to breast cancer research.
Donating 50% of the office sweep is another great way to have a guilt-free flutter knowing some of the
proceeds will go to help fund research into breast cancer in young women.
Staging a fashion parade or a competition for the best hat with entry as a gold coin donation to Fashion
Targets Breast Cancer is another simple way for everyone to get involved and have some fun for a good
cause.
Fashion Targets Breast Cancer is a fundraising initiative of the National Breast Cancer Foundation
which raises funds for breast cancer research in women 45 years and under. Since its inception in
1994, Fashion Targets Breast Cancer has raised
Approximately 14,000 Australian women will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. Almost 13% of
them will be under 45 years old. Women of this age face very different issues than older sufferers, such
as yearly menopause, relationship and career difficulties. FTBC specifically raises money to aid
research for this younger group of women. It aims to help with early detection, identify the cause and
ultimately prevent the disease all together.
