Sydney's finest Chefs launch Caritas Australia’s Fish Friday

Caritas Australia and Restaurant & Catering are proud to announce four of Sydney's finest
seafood Chefs to launch Fish Friday as part of Caritas Australia's 2010 Project
Compassion Appeal.
Peter Doyle (from Peter Doyle @ the Quay) will join celebrity Sydney chefs (From Aqua,
Coast and Garfish restaurants) in Martin Place at 12 noon on 19th February, 2010 to cook
their special Fish Friday signature dishes.
Chef and Chairman of Restaurant and Catering, Mr Doyle said "Caritas Australia do
tremendous work where it is needed most and it is our pleasure to support their 2010
appeal by cooking up some of the finest seafood this country has to offer”.
Caritas Australia's CEO Jack de Groot commented, "this is a way of Caritas reaching out
into the community and highlighting how people in Australia can support our life giving
work in some of the poorest countries on earth".
The prominent chefs will each prepare an exclusive dish on the day which will be
auctioned off with all proceeds going to Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion.
Caritas Australia’s Fish Friday, supported by Restaurant and Catering Australia, is to be
held throughout the lead up period to Easter, known as Lent where Catholics are called to
eat fish instead of meat on Fridays.
Caritas Australia is an international development organization of the Catholic Church and
Project Compassion is Australia’s largest international aid and development fundraiser.
Last year generous Australians donated more than $8.7 million dollars to support Caritas
Australia's work amongst the poorest communities in the world through Project
Compassion.
