Just imagine it ... you buckle your seat belt and nervously smile at the racing driver beside you who is
revving his Porsche 911 turbo engine. Nearby a sleek RAAF Hawk prepares to take off beside you, in
a speed comparison not for the faint hearted. This is the ride of the life time pitting super charged car
against mind blowing jet – and it could be you in the passenger seat!
Porsche Australia, proud supporters of Make-A-Wish® Australia, have worked to create the most
awesome auction package for two lucky passengers in a Porsche 911 Turbo to have the ride of their
life against a RAAF Hawk at the 2010 RAAF Williamtown Air Show, near Newcastle, New South
Wales on Saturday September 18th and Sunday September 19th. Funds raised by the auction of the
rides will go to granting Wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions.
The two passenger rides are now on eBay ready for bids now. To bid simply go to e-Bay and
enter comparison ride in the search field and bid for the ride of a lifetime (Participants must be
18 years of age or over.) The lucky bidders will ride in the passenger seat of the Porsche 911 Turbo
experiencing its phenomenal acceleration as part of a high speed performance comparison with a
RAAF Hawk aircraft. The Porsche 911 Turbo is the quickest accelerating road car ever built by
Porsche, featuring all wheel drive and 368 kilowatts of power. It accelerates from 0-100km/h in 3.4
seconds and has the ability to reach a top speed of 312km/h.
The RAAF Hawk is no slouch either with 5800 pounds of thrust, with the performance comparison
sure to be as close as it will be exciting.
