Sydney Celebrities Lend Their Support to Make-A-Wish®

Well known media personalities, Dr Cindy Pan, Bianca Dye, Renee Bargh, James Tobin

and Jonathan Pease have joined with Make-A-Wish® to give former Wish children the

skills and confidence needed to become public speakers for the Australian charity.

The program launch on Friday, 17 April at Park Hyatt Sydney at 7.30am, hosted by

Channel 7’s James Tobin and with special guest speaker, Robyn Moore (Australia’s most

in demand female speaker and the voice of ‘Blinky  Bill’) will see six NSW teenagers and

their celebrity mentors meet and take part in a tailored workshop. This initiative will kick-

off Wish Day, Make-A-Wish® Australia’s national awareness and fundraising event.

All the celebrities have donated their time to mentor the Young Ambassador team and

Park Hyatt Sydney, a global supporter of the charity, is sponsoring the event to be held

in their beautiful harbourbar.

The mission of Make-A-Wish Australia is to grant the Wishes of children with life-

threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength

and joy.  The Young Ambassador initiative, developed by Make-A-Wish gives

former

Wish children, who have all beaten the odds against their individual life-threatening

illnesses, the opportunity to promote the work of the organization by presenting to

corporate organizations and the public on their Wish experience.

The Young Ambassadors (25 in total across the country) have been handpicked to

represent the hope and promise that Australia’s young people bring to our nation.  Their

stories are unique and inspirational – from the lows of being diagnosed with life-

threatening illnesses and undergoing difficult medical treatments to the highs of flying

to Paris, meeting the Pope, or chatting with the cast of stage show Wicked in London,

these teenagers truly move all who hear them speak.
