HELP GRANT WISHES WISH DAY 2009
Friday April 17 is Wish Day 2009!
Make-A-Wish
®
Australias national fundraising and awareness event is fast-approaching and the
childrens charity is asking everyone to help Flossy, the Wish fairy, grant Wishes this Wish Day.
In its fifth year, Wish Day enables Australian businesses, communities and individuals to share in
the power of a Wish by donating to the Foundation.
Wish Day will kick-off in Sydney with a media breakfast at the Park Hyatt.
TV and radio personalities James Tobin,
Dr Cindy Pan, Bianca Dye, Renee Bargh, Jonathan
Pease, Bessie Bardot
and guest speaker, Robyn Moore will be present at the Park Hyatt and
have joined forces with Make-A-Wish to launch its Celebrity Mentor program.
These mentors will meet with and provide advice to Make-A-Wish Australias Young
Ambassadors; former Wish children that promote the Foundation throughout the community. The
media presentation will commence at 8am.
Tin-rattlers will be collecting money in the CBD so that Make-A-Wish can continue granting
cherished Wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions.
Whether it is making a donation, organising a fundraising event at work, buying or selling
merchandise or helping out at a sausage sizzle Make-A-Wish would love your support!
Make-A-Wish Australia grants the Wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to
enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
The charity was established in 1985 and has since granted over 5,500 Wishes nation-wide.
Make-A-Wish has over 1000 volunteers at 56 branches across Australia. In 2008 alone the
charity granted 433 Wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions.
