Foundation Week highlights importance of regional centres
Bendigo has been chosen as the location for Uniting Aged Cares first Foundation Week and Annual
General Meeting to highlight the importance of regional services.
Uniting Aged Care Foundation Week celebrations will be held on Tuesday 27 October at Strath-Haven
to highlight the integral role regional services play in the social and economic life of local communities.
Uniting Aged Care is a leading provider of quality aged care services in Victoria and Tasmania.
Executive Director, Robyn Batten, said facilities like Strath-Haven not only provided quality care for
Australias rapidly ageing population but also enhanced regional economies.
Facilities like Strath-Haven employ local people with a diverse range of skills including: nurses and
carers, maintenance services, medical services, recreation, hairdressers and food services and thats
always good news for local economies and service providers, Ms Batten said.
Uniting Aged Cares first foundation Week is also a time to celebrate our local, regional and
organisation wide achievements. We are celebrating the gifts and diversity of our thousands of
residents and clients and to formally thank our dedicated staff and volunteers for all they give.
We receive great support from Uniting Church Congregations and local communities and we seek to
be involved with local older people and to understand how they choose to spend their lives, Ms Batten
said.
Uniting Aged Care offers a full range of services including: residential aged care, community care
programs, respite care and community care packages.
