Big business making a difference in 8mins
50 teams of senior managers from Australias biggest businesses will be competing in an
exciting new fundraising event being held in Martin Place TODAY.
The first event of its kind in Australia, Spin to Cure Diabetes pits teams against each
other in a frantic outdoor spinning race to see who can travel the furthest in 8 minutes.
The team that travels the furthest and raises the most money will be crowned the Kings
and Queens of Spin.
All funds raised will be put straight towards research into type 1 diabetes.
Research is desperately needed - Australia has one of the highest rates of type 1
diabetes in the world with more than 140,000 children and adults suffering from the
disease. Type 1 diabetes cannot be prevented and there is no cure.
