DEAF SOCIETY CELEBRATES 125 YEARS
You would think that by the time you reach your 125th celebration of your
birthday youd be happy just to sit back and relax, but thats not the case for
the Victorian Deaf Society (Vicdeaf), said Graeme Kelly, (Vicdeaf) CEO.
In a time where approximately 1 in 6 Australians are experiencing hearing
problems, Vicdeaf is rising to the challenge to not just continue its role
leading the way in social justice and equity for Deaf and hard of hearing
people, but expanding and developing services to meet these demanding
times.
Mr Kelly said that at a Government House Garden Party today, (22nd
October), Vicdeaf will celebrate its 125th Anniversary, acknowledging both the
past and future a future filled with opportunity to find new ways to meet the
hearing health needs of thousands of Victorians.
