course and prevented type 2 diabetes.
Why:
The risk factors of developing type 2 diabetes include age, family
history, ethnicity and whether Rob eats well and exercises regularly. Let us be
witness.
The diabetes epidemic data comparing 2001 to 2008 data found that diabetes in
Victoria has doubled in the past seven years due to the ageing population and
concentration of ethnic and lower social economic groups. In 2001 there were four
hotspots and now there are 41 of the 79 Local Government Areas.
On the eve of World Diabetes Day many people are assessing their personal risk
of developing type 2 diabetes as the latest IDF data shows diabetes now affects
285 million people worldwide.
Every 10 seconds a person dies from diabetes related causes
Every 10 seconds two people develop diabetes
Every 30 seconds a person has an amputation
Activity for World Diabetes Day includes lighting up the Arts Centre spire in blue to
raise awareness of diabetes.
