HEART FOUNDATION AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE TO BE ANNOUNCED

The Heart Foundation will hold its 2nd Annual Awards Lunch on Wednesday 27
October 12.30pm at The Pavilion Function & Conference Centre, 1 Bogan Street,
Breakfast Creek.

The prestigious awards program honours individuals and organisations whose long
term involvement or achievements have played a significant role in the work of the
Heart Foundation. ABC Presenter Jenny Woodward will be the special guest MC for
the event.

The ceremony will be held in conjunction with a special information session with guest
presenter Associate Professor David Colquhoun and heart attack survivor, Liz Joshua
who will speak about her heart attack journey.

The Awards feature an impressive field of recipients who will be honoured by the
Heart Foundation for their long term commitment and achievements to the work of the
Heart Foundation.

Heart Foundation Honoured Contributor: Associate Professor Con Aroney AM
Heart Foundation Honoured Contributor: Harold Hope
Heart Foundation Premier Donor: Ian & Cass George
Heart Foundation Volunteer of the Year: Lynne Strange
Heart Foundation Individual Fundraiser: Lauren Moran
Heart Foundation Corporate Fundraiser: Queensland Newspapers
Heart Foundation Valued Staff Member: Cathy Donald

Cameron Prout, Heart Foundation CEO, said he was very impressed with the caliber
of the Award winners and expressed his congratulations to them all. These awards
allow the Heart Foundation to acknowledge the commitment and hard work that many
hundreds of people make to the Heart Foundation, he said.

cardiovascular research, guidelines for health professionals, informing the public and assisting
