***CANCER HEALTH STORY ALERT***
Experts reveal latest news
on faulty genes (mutations) responsible for
predisposition to breast cancer (and other cancers)
Sponsored by Cancer Institute of NSW
Sunday 11 October, 2009
WHAT:
Information and support day for individuals with gene faults in BRCA1 or BRCA2.
Experts provide latest information on these gene faults (also known as gene mutations),
which predispose women to an increased risk of breast and ovarian cancer.
They also have a 50:50 chance of passing this increased risk to each of their children
Medical professionals will provide the latest information regarding cancer risk and
management options. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and share stories with
other gene fault carriers
This would fit in with any Breast Cancer Awareness Month features you may be working
on, especially regarding how women may be pre-disposed to breast cancer through their
genes
The event is hosted by the Association of Genetic Support of Australasia (AGSA)
WHEN:
