Pre Election Forum – MENTAL HEALTH
The Mental Health Coalition SA is holding a pre election forum on the topic of mental
health on the 16th of February at the Art Gallery of SA from 12.30pm to 4.30pm.
The Hon. Dr Jane Lomax-Smith MP, Minister for Mental Health and Dr Duncan
McFetridge, Shadow Minister for Mental Health, will speak at the forum and participate
as panel members for questions from attendees.
Forum Guest Speakers include:
Jill Chapman from MOSH who will talk about suicide prevention,
Alwin Chong from the Aboriginal Health Council who will talk about Aboriginal
mental health issues
Kylie Harrison will talk about views from the perspective of someone who has
experienced a mental health issue and needed help from the mental health system.
The panel members will include the Minister for Mental Health, the Shadow Minister for
Mental Health, a consumer, a carer and a representative of the Mental Health Coalition of
SA.
The audience will have an opportunity to ask questions of all panel members on issues
relating to mental health service provision.
Attendees at the forum include a diverse range of individuals and groups from the non
government and government sectors who are involved in, and have an interest in, mental
health service provision and mental health recovery.
