This Annual General Meeting for the over 145 Aboriginal community controlled
health services across urban, regional and remote Australia is the largest national
gathering of Aboriginal people involved in community health.
Aboriginal community controlled health services have over 30 years experience in
providing frontline primary health care.
Over 200 representatives are attending from member community services, their
State and Territory peak bodies and from the national peak body the National
Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO).
The Annual General Meeting on Tuesday includes the election of the NACCHO
Chair and Deputy for a two year term and reports from state and territory affiliates.
The Annual members meeting over Wednesday, Thursday and Friday includes
forums on the Close the Gap campaign, establishing a partnership with
government, improving the COAG Aboriginal health initiatives, workforce
initiatives and improving access to medicines.
