REGIS LAKESIDE CHEF WINS NATIONAL AWARD

Chancellor Park’s

Regis Lakeside Chef, Christine Whitcombe,

has been

awarded the Regis

Group’s 2009 Outstanding Environmental Services Staff

Member of the Year

Award at the

Group’s annual National Staff Awards Gala Dinner held in Melbourne last Friday night.

Mrs. Whitcombe, who has

been with the facility for 10 years, has had a major impact on the

care and lifestyle of the residents at Regis Lakeside during this time.

Regis Group Queensland State Manager Steven Schultze says, “We are all very proud of Chris

for winning this award and whilst it was a very big surprise to her she is thrilled to be recognised

for her hard work in making this facility a real home for residents and a great place to work for

the whole team.

“Chris

won this award for her strong advocacy for those in her care

and her leadership in

providing healthy, balanced and creative menus for Lakeside’s residents.

“As well as being the Chef at Lakeside Chris also fulfils the roles of workplace health and safety

officer and fire warden. She continually strives for improvement and has commenced a bi-

monthly food focus group with our residents, getting their feedback on menu choices, food

quality and service levels.  Chris is enthusiastic about her work, is creative with her menus and

ingredient selection and a great leader of her kitchen team, Mr. Schultze explained.

““Living, with Support” is not just Regis’ value statement, it is what Chris truly strives to achieve

on a daily basis.

“Optimism, passion, integrity and respect are integral to everything Chris

does

and this award

reinforces these actions.

“Regis is proud to be at the forefront of aged care and an employer of choice and will continue

to invest in both its staff and residents’ well-being”, Mr. Schultze added.

The Regis National Staff Awards recognise the combined skills, energy and efforts of its staff in

ten categories and encourage excellence and outstanding performance in line with business

objectives and values.

Regis Lakeside supports 100 low care, high care, and dementia specific residents and employs

120 local health care professionals.
