VETERANS’ HEALTH WEEK LAUNCH
HEIDELBERG REPATRIATION HOSPITAL
The Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, Alan Griffin, will join local veterans in a Tai Chi session to
launch Veterans’ Health Week today at the Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital.
Mr Griffin said Veterans’ Health Week, 24-30 August, is encouraging veterans, war widows and
widowers to think about their health and take part in regular exercise to live a stronger, healthier
and happier life.
“I encourage all members of the veteran community – including their families and carers – to
take a healthy step forward and take part in a Veterans’ Health Week activity,” he said.
“Veterans’ Health Week also promotes the range of programs offered to the veteran community
by my Department, including the Heart Health exercise and healthy living program and the
HomeFront falls and accident prevention program.”
