50km/h SPEED LIMIT
EXTENDED ON ILUKA ROAD
The 50km/h speed limit on Iluka Road, Woombah, will be extended from
Thursday 5 November 2009.
“An RTA spokesperson said the change to the speed limit was the result of an
RTA speed zone review.
“The speed zone review incorporated the entire length of Iluka Road from the
Pacific Highway to Iluka village, a total length of 16.7 kilometres,” the
spokesperson said.
“The length of 80km/h speed limit on the end of Iluka Road that meets Pacific
Highway has been reduced from 3.2 kilometres to around 2.5 kilometres.
“The 50km/h speed limit will be extended to cover this section.
“This adjustment will improve road safety and is appropriate for
the increasing
roadside development,” the spokesperson said.
The RTA has arranged for Clarence Valley Council to install the speed zone
signs on Iluka Road.
