Nine local young people have joined forces to form The Belmont livALIVETM Youth Committee, with the purpose of identifying activities that will be attractive to their friends, and then helping to plan, promote and deliver these activities.

The young people range in age from 10-17 and meet monthly (and more often in the lead up to special events) at the Belmont Youth & Family Services Centre.

The committee was formed three months ago and has already been instrumental in planning and helping to deliver activities and events, including several livALIVETM BOUNCE dance parties held at the Belmont Oasis. For their work they receive free membership to livALIVE and can attend programs for free. They can also include their involvement on their resumes.
Im on the committee so that livALIVETM run events that my friends and I want to go to. I like being on the committee because I like to help out and so that I can go to events for free. Josh Thompson

Since it was first piloted in November 2011, livALIVE has delivered a range of programs including leadership camps, film-making, urban art and theatre production, which have been developed based on feedback from the young people involved so far.
