Secret sleuth activity a highlight for kids of September
public cultural event PHOTO OPPORTUNITY TODAY
MONDAY 25 AUGUST AT 2.30PM
The University of Melbourne is opening its doors to the public in a four day FREE
cultural event September 18-21, with a highlight for kids a dress-up exploration of the
Universitys secrets, stories and mysteries, with sly old fox and cunning sleuth,
Professor Reynard Eastley.
Melbourne actor and educator Bernard Caleo will lead this special childrens activity on
Sunday afternoon of the event, in the specially created role of Professor Reynard Eastley
(PhD, Stories and Adventures).
With the keen wit of Fantastic Mr Fox, a dash of Indiana Jones and a smattering of Harry
Potter, Professor Eastley will lead groups of children and their families or carers as they
search for clues hidden across campus, and help find out the mysterious secret of Melbourne
University in this fun and exciting expedition.
There will be three tours for around 30 people scheduled from 12.30-4.30pm.
The University of Melbournes Cultural Treasures Days will also feature exhibitions, talks and
performances for grownups with events scheduled from Thursday evening and throughout
the weekend.
