CAN ‘THE FIRST STATE’ BE THE FIRST IN THE 2010
HAVAIANAS THONG CHALLENGE?’
World Record Photo Opportunity!
On Australia Day 2010, over a thousand sydney-siders will hit the beach to flog their
neighbouring States in the 5th Annual Havaianas Thong Challenge world record
attempt.
What is the Thong Challenge?:
It’s the ultimate Australia Day beach event bringing people together for a day of fun
in the surf and on the sand, raising money for Surf Lifesaving ($10 from every
particiapnt goes to local Nippers). Bondi is aiming to hold the title again in 2010 by
getting as many people on giant inflatable Havaianas Thongs linked as a human
chain, out on the water!
Bondi currently holds the world record at 908 people (set in 2009).
Where: North Bondi Beach
When: Australia Day from 9am
with World Record attempt marshalling @ 12:00pm, and record attempt at 12:15pm.
