Day of Difference Foundation Turns 5!

Sydney, NSW – 06th

November, 2009 –

On the 17th November it will have been 5 years since the Day of Difference

Foundation, a national children’s charity, was

founded by the parents of Sophie Delezio,

who suffered unimaginable

burns to 85% of her body in a terrible accident at her child care centre.

In the Foundation’s very short history they have been able to provide millions of dollars worth of equipment to hospitals

around Australia and saved countless numbers of lives. They have also funded research into burns and skin technology

and supported

critically injured children and their families on their journey from emergency to recovery.  The charity

also advocates for the safety of children to help prevent injuries and through community education programs promotes

the acceptance of all children who are different.

With the 68,000 children who are admitted to hospital every year due to injury, the Foundation has been able to have a

significant impact on getting these children back on their feet.

“It is fantastic to see the work we do pay off”, Ron Delezio, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of the Day of Difference

Foundation said. “After all the money our generous supporters have donated towards our cause, we have been able to

purchase some really important equipment throughout Australia which has given many critically injured kids a second

chance at life.”

As part of the anniversary celebrations, tomorrow the 17th of November, staff from the Day of Difference Foundation

along with volunteers are taking to the streets to spread the message of working for critically injured kids. There will be

a merchandise and information stall set up at Wynyard Park and there will be people roaming around the city

throughout the day to promote the charity’s programs and the importance of the work that the charity does.
