The Great Aussie Vegemite Breakfast Supporting Universal Children’s Day

Raising funds for Clown Doctors -

Vegemite and The Today Show have thrown their support behind Universal Children’s Day on 27 October,

with a fundraiser aiming to help put roses on the cheeks of unwell Aussie kids.

Launched today at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead Sydney, The Great Aussie Vegemite Breakfast is

an initiative that will run during the week of Universal Children’s Day, and encourages Australians to host a

breakfast to raise funds for the Clown Doctors.

Clown Doctors are dedicated to promoting the health benefits of humour by distracting children during

hospital treatment or helping them forget for a moment that they are unwell. They parody the

doctor’s routine and lighten the serious side of the hospital, bringing support, fun and laughter.

The Great Aussie Vegemite Breakfast is encouraging Australians to get off to the right start to the day

throughout the week of 25 October by hosting a nutritious breakfast and asking guests to donate $2 per

person.

Vegemite and the Today Show are aiming to raise over $50,000 for the Clown Doctors.

Ben Wicks, General Manager of Vegemite for Kraft Foods Australia/New Zealand, believes the support of

Universal Children’s Day to raise funds for Clown Doctors is a worthy cause.

“Clown Doctors do an amazing job, and help put back smiles on the cheeks of over 100,000 unwell children

in hospital every year.

“We encourage Australians to host a nutritious breakfast and donate, so the Clown Doctors can continue

their great work in Children’s Hospitals all around Australia.

“To kick-start the fundraising I am pleased to announce Kraft Foods Australia/New Zealand will be making

an initial donation of $25,000,” says Ben Wicks.

To participate in this fundraising activity all you need to do is host a breakfast for friends, family, colleagues,
