SUBMISSIONS REPORT ON DISPLAY FOR
TARCUTTA BYPASS
Planning for the proposed Hume Highway upgrade at Tarcutta is continuing with an
important milestone moving the project a step closer.
An RTA spokesperson
said the Submissions Report for the Tarcutta bypass has been
submitted to the NSW Department of Planning for its consideration and is available for
the public to view.
The Submissions Report focuses on the key issues identified during the environmental
assessment phase.
The environmental assessment was on display for community comment until 6 October
2009. A report was then prepared on the submissions received during the display of the
environmental assessment.
The project is now being considered for approval under the NSW Environmental
Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
The proposed Tarcutta bypass will be around seven kilometres, passing to the west of
the town and joining up with the new four lane highway currently being built, the
spokesperson said.
The Submissions Report is available on the NSW Department of Planning website at
or the RTA
under the Hume
Highway duplication link or phone the project information line on 1800 755 767.
The Federal Government has committed $225 million towards the construction of the
Tarcutta Bypass.
