INTERNATIONAL SOLO RELEASE FOR MIRIAM WEBSTER

Miriam Webster - one of the key worship leaders with Hillsong Church in Sydney

over the past ten years - releases her first international solo CD Made Me Glad

through Kingsway Music next month, with an Australian release due in November.

You’re probably familiar with some of Miriam’s songs. Made Me Glad, Dwelling

Places, Welcome In This Place and You Are Faithful have appeared on various

Hillsong projects. And numerous artists including Martin Smith, Alvin Slaughter,

Don Moen, and Sandi Patty have recorded her songs too.

Made Me Glad, recorded in Nashville, includes some new songs, some old, plus a

stunning duet with Darlene Zschech called Loving Kindness.

EARLY CHRISTMAS FOR COMPLIMENTS OF GUS!

It’s Christmas in September for Aussie favorites Compliments Of Gus!

That’s right! Melbourne’s distinguished Christian pop rock quartet is set to release

its first Christmas-themed CD titled Seasoned.

Keyboardist and songwriter Jared Haschek says some of the songs are about

Christmas, some hint at Christmas, and some have nothing to do with it.

Seasoned launches this weekend at Sydney’s Blackstump festival, but fans who

pre-order the disc online from cog.net.au can download the mp3 files from the

band’s website.

THE LADS PITCH TO PRE-TEENS

Kiwi band The Lads release a new self titled CD this week.

Originally released online as Secrets Of The Universe, the CD is now called The

Lads – at least in Christian retail stores.

The CD sees the band move away from the CCM base it developed in Australia and

New Zealand to target pre-teens.

The Lads CD includes new versions of International Mystery Man and Creator, plus

covers of the Rich Mullin’s tune Sometime’s By Step, newsboys’ Amazing Love, and

Hillsong’s Tell The World.

GRANT NORSWORTHY, SOLO

Grant Norsworthy, the bassist with the Paul Colman Trio is heading home for a few

weeks to present a number of solo gigs around Australia and New Zealand.

Grant’s “More than Music” seminars and workshops are very different to his work

with the trio. He speaks about what it means to be a worshipper, living out God’s

love, plus advocating for Compassion.

He’s presenting a number of sessions this weekend at Blackstump.

FRESH START FOR HEALER

American singer Kari Jobe [pronounced Kerry] has recorded a new version of

Healer. And it’s rocketing up the US Christian charts.

Healer is same song that Mike Guglielmucci wrote about his faked leukemia.

The inspiration for Jobe, who’s a worship pastor and songwriter from Gateway

Church in Texas, is very real.

She says her reason for recording the song centres on a very real young girl,

Kelsie Constable, who is suffering from a real leukemia.

It’s interesting to know that when Guglielmucci made his public confession last

year, there was some debate about what to do with the song.

The first edition of Hillsong’s This Is Our God DVD included a segment of

Guglielmucci talking about how his “illness” and how it inspired the song.  Hillsong

recalled the DVD and removed the segment from the second edition. No change

to the CD.

Planetshakers, which first recorded Guglielmucci’s song on its Savior Of The

World set, recalled both the DVD and CD. Planetshakers has reissued the CD,

but not the DVD.

Now with Kari recording the song, Healer has a fresh start.

AUSSIE SINGER RAISES AWARENESS OF POST ABORTION SYNDROME

Melbourne singer Amy K this week releases Silent Cry, a new song that raises

awareness of post abortion syndrome and the work of the Providence

Foundation.

The foundation is a non-profit organisation set up to provide “balanced

information” and/or assistance for women who are facing, or have faced, life

changing pregnancy decisions.

Amy is one of the singers in the Melbourne Gospel Choir which has backed Delta

Goodrem, Westlife, and Guy Sebastian.

Amy says she recorded the song after being approached to sing it by songwriter

Jud Field who is also in the choir.

Silent Cry will be released to radio and TV next week, with a DVD and CD single

available in stores and online.

CAROLYN TO LAUNCH TRASH AND TREASURE

Carolyn Oates – the Melbourne singer songwriter who worked in the Australian

Christian music arena during the 90s before relocating to Europe - is set to

launch her first mainstream album called In The Moment.

The lead single – Trash And Treasure - is supported by a video clip created by

the same team that’s worked on Priscilla Queen of the Desert, The Matrix,

Moulin Rouge, and Mission Impossible.

The Trash And Treasure launch takes place at Edinburgh Castle Hotel in

Brunswick Melbourne on 9 October.
