Fed Square to Screen World Youth Day Opening Mass

Fed Square will become a centre of World Youth Day activities in Melbourne next Tuesday

when SBS broadcasts the Opening Mass from Sydney live to the big screen.

Jane Sydenham-Clarke from Fed Square said the live broadcast of the event will provide a major

community focus directly linked into the World Youth Day celebrations.

“World Youth Day is a significant event for the Catholic community and Fed Square is pleased to

be able to facilitate participation for those unable to travel to Sydney, through a blessing with

Father Terry Kean and the live screening of the Opening Mass in Sydney.”

Students from St. Columbas Primary School, Elwood and Holy Trinity, Eltham North will take

part in a special service and blessing, presided over by Father Terry Kean, at 12.00 noon in the

Square prior to the live broadcast.

Ms Sydenham-Clarke said, “Fed Square’s Big Screen will provide a larger than life experience for

those attending the event in Melbourne accessible to many visitors and city workers on their way

home.”
